A Word About Lithographs vs. Giclee
Our vendors produce prints of two types: lithographs on paper and giclée prints on canvas and paper.
The lithographs on paper are produced through the traditional offset printing process and offer a more economical way to reproduce images in a quality manner. These prints offer wonderful detail and colors that are a little softer than those of the giclées. All of our lithograph prints are framed behind glass.
If you are looking for a truly spectacular reproduction of art that looks like an original, then consider one of our giclée prints. The giclée prints are produced through a relatively new printing process resulting in very high quality digital prints yielding the look and feel of original paintings. The giclée prints are more expensive to produce, but result in detailed reproductions with brighter, richer colors that are similar to the colors in original paintings. The giclée prints are printed directly on canvas or paper and generally in larger sizes than the lithographs. Giclée prints on canvas are framed without glass, like an original painting.
